Creating your first event
An event is one night on sale: it has a date, a poster, a description and one or more ticket types. You create it from MyBoxOffice → Events → Add.
The fields that actually matter
- Title — what your audience reads everywhere: on the site, in the receipt, on the ticket.
- Date and time — the start time is what drives the countdown and the reminder.
- Poster — the main image. It is also where the plugin starts from when it prepares a social post, so a good one pays off twice.
- Description — the show, told. It doesn’t need to be long: it needs to say what it is and who will enjoy it.
- Capacity — how many seats go on sale. When they run out, sales close by themselves.
Before you publish
Save as a draft and look at the preview. A draft is not on sale and shows up nowhere: it is the right place to get things wrong.
When you press Publish the event goes live and tickets can be bought. From then on every purchase shows up in Reports and in the Box office.
A show that runs more than once
Each performance is its own event, because it has its own seats and its own takings. The quick way is to duplicate the one you already made and change only the date.
