Installing and activating MyBoxOffice

Installing and activating MyBoxOffice

Ten minutes, and at the end you have a working admin panel. You don’t need to write code and you don’t need to touch a single file.

What you need first

  • A WordPress site of your own, with administrator access.
  • PHP 7.4 or newer. WordPress tells you which one you have under Tools → Site Health → Info: if it is older, your host raises it in one click.
  • An active security certificate (your address starts with https://). You need it to take money: without it, payment providers won’t work.

Installing

  • In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  • Pick the .zip file you downloaded and press Install Now.
  • Then Activate. A MyBoxOffice entry appears in the sidebar.

On first activation the plugin does three things by itself: it prepares the tables where bookings and customers will live, it creates the public pages the sale needs (cart, receipt, tickets) and it opens the Dashboard.

Your licence

The free version works straight away and never expires. If you bought a plan, the licence key arrives by email and goes into MyBoxOffice → Licence. From that moment the menu entries for your plan appear on their own.

If something goes wrong

No menu appears

Almost always the plugin didn’t really activate. Go back to Plugins and check it now says «Deactivate» underneath: that word means it is on.

Blank page after activating

Almost always a PHP version that is too old. Have your host raise it and reload: nothing is lost.
